Election Rally FOMO?

GS member: I have one query ..currently market is going up so not investing and waiting for dip .. but here .. after election will all start profit booking and market will go down OR what if after election as bjp win , market will go more and more UP ⬆️ .. would we missed opportunity to buy stocks? .. confused

Growthsquad : Market will always be filled with regrets, you can actually never predict the best outcome but you can be prepared for worst.

May sound little diplomatic but there’s too much greed right now in stockmarket and NO ONE certainly knows when market will actually correct so when we try to catch every opportunity, we are bound to get stuck in wrong stocks as well or sell good stocks early.

So in case of election rather than predicting the outcome, we will try to focus on process. i.e if rally comes our current portfolio stocks will automatically give good returns as I said the whole market will be pumped.

Further if profit booking happens we will be getting more buying opportunity for long term stocks. You can only take this opportunity if you don’t get too greedy rn for election and save some capital.

So in any case we will be benefiting if we go with this current strategy of not making separate plans for election rally. Only regret you will be having with this strategy is “I wish I could get more profits by investing more money”. This would be a good regret, as it is based on unrealised losses (imaginary) goes away in sometime. What stays is realised losses (real in your portfolio). So don’t feel FOMO of missing out on any opportunity, we are invested in market with SIP and stocks both so in case rally comes we will benefit from it. In case dip comes, we will have capital to make better investment at cheaper valuations ✔️

I hope this clears your mind, but as I said in case we get some good opportunities which are election rally based then we will suggest that on group (with a strict stoploss) 🙌.
